Police found hidden cameras broadcasting videos from suites to paysite in South Korea hotels
If you do not have paranoia, this does not mean that you are not being watched.
The creators of paysite, which was broadcasting live video from rooms of Korean hotels, were able to place dozens of spyware devices and show videos to thousands of cybervoyeurs. An ordinary person could hardly notice these cameras.
Cybersecurity experts were able to detect cameras in 42 rooms of 30 motels and hotels. According to police, the victims were 1600 guests, who were spied on live by more than four thousand people.
Hidden cameras were installed in TVs, outlets, home appliances, motion sensors, fire alarms etc. The criminals managed to earn more than six thousand dollars on that. Under local law, they face up to five years in prison and huge fines for distributing pornography and violating privacy.
